Presents and people wrap themselves up for the winter.
Houses and hillsides are covered in blankets of snow.
The icicles chime a tune that tells us it’s Christmas.
The coldest of seasons brings warmth, charity and cheer.
A change in the wind thaws the chilled souls that thrived on cold comfort.
The frost that keeps mankind apart melts as they drift towards peace.

On vast frozen lakes where we once fed the swans
our children are learning to glide.
They fall and embrace turning figures of eight
through snowflakes from silvery skies.

Elder’s arms reach for the family the young hear the migrating call.
Animals slow down their hearts through the winter, birds beat their wings to the warmth
The icicles chime the fondest of farewells to Christmas.
With so many reasons to wish for a prosperous new year.
The treasured traditions of sledges and snowmen have passed on from father to son.
Give and receive, reflect and believe, a time for resolution has begun.
